Classism is recognized as differential treatment based on social class or perceived social class. The society we live in has taken it upon themselves to stereotype and segregate the working class with other classes within society, through which exhibits ignorance and encourages this profound inequality. Taking into consideration that the above mentioned prejudice affects us all on a mental, social, and spiritual level, in addition to creating a stigma in relation to this issue, this petition is to express interest towards restricting classism within the province of Ontario. Ultimately, the principal objective of this call to action is to treat people from every background, race, class status and rank with dignity and respect, to support the development of all people to their full potential, reduce the vast differences in income, wealth and access to resources, and to ensure everyone has a voice in the decisions that affect them.
