These meds helped short term, but long term they disabled me. They changed my personality for the worse. Antidepresant withdrawal is brutal. Almost cost me my life. Have been suffering for years and Drs don't know how to fix it.

Light sensitivity and dry eyes which causes to quit my job. Terrible night sweats. Memory loss. Irritability. Gerd, sibo, always sleepy, no motivation, suicide thoughts...These are from venlafaxine. I cannot quit because of the discountinuation (brain zaps, diarrhea, extreme tiredness, palpitations, nausea, panic).

I suffered horribly trying to come off venlafaxine last year. Since then I've been on zoloft but currently tapering off as it didn't work. Side effects are awful. Totally discouraged by the whole anti depressants and not being informed of the severity of side effects especially from withdrawing.

While I have been helped by SSRIs on managing my severe depression, I can't get off the one I am on now, which has stopped working. So I am taking two meds, which isn't good either. And I still feel terrible and don't know if it's due to depression or side effects of too much SSRIs. Some fun!

32 years on anti-depressants fighting to get off. So many many side effects. I am not the person I was. Trying to function is extremely difficult. I hate that my money is going into the pockets of the pharmaceutical industry because I am addicted and experiencing horrendous side effects.

They put me on this for nerve pain. Horrible. Made everything worse. And i told the dr i am very sensitive to meds. But they would not treat my back pain from 3 crushed vertabrae & 4.5 mm inclusion of vertabrae into spineal canal

I've been taking effect for almost 2 years now. I keep trying to get off of it because of the side effects but I don't know which is worse the side effects or trying to just get off of it. I've worked my way down to 37mg a day but even though that small dose is so little I still struggle with side effects, and its still tremendously hard to just be done with it. =(

You are a prisoner to these meds and half a person . Without them you can’t function either. They hold you captive your afraid to go off or change them as it’s horrifying what happens when you do.if they don’t work it months of torture trying to find something elese . You fear loosing your mind being sick or hospitalized, not in regular hospital but in lock down unit paying for the crime of trying to help yourself . Not fair. I’m a mess right now but I fear going off and becoming an unknown verses now being half of who I used to be both physically and mentally

I have written documentation from numerous top medical centers including Mayo Clinic that Seroquel given to me for tinnitus induced insomnia (without informed consent) has left me with irreversible tardive dyskinesia, tardive dystonia, tardive akathisia, brain damage to my autonomic nervous system and MCTD, which is “mixed connective tissue disease”. I was one of the premiere extreme sport athletes and instructors for almost 40 years. I was a national champion motorcycle racer. I was one of the first 20 certified Wingsuit instructors in the United States that jumped and instructed all over the U.S. and Europe. I am a graduate of Tulane University. I was a highly successful real estate developer for one of the largest architectural firms on the East Coast. Now I’m crippled for life, and this is all documented by the best medical centers in the U.S. including U. Pitt, U. Penn, NYU Medical Center, RWJ Medical Center in N.J., and mist recently Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. There must be justice for those of us whose lives have been irreparably harmed. Thank you.
