We, the undersigned, strongly request that you, the administrators of Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences, change the venue for the Class of 2018’s Graduation Ceremony.

There needs be a change of venue as we know that we have simply outgrown the space of the Capitol Theatre. Now that we are a class of 140 students, the Capitol Theatre simply cannot accommodate the friends and family that we would like to join us for this special occasion, along with the entire outstanding PNWU faculty and community who have given as much as we have. We had brought this to your attention a few months ago and we cannot help but feel ignored or unimportant. This day is about us, the graduating class, therefore we should not be limited in the number of guests we can bring. For some of our classmates, simply bringing their spouse plus their children would utilize the allotted number of seats per student resulting in the inability to invite anyone else. We don’t necessarily care about the aesthetic appeal of the Capitol Theatre, rather we prefer for those that are significant in our lives to join us for this celebration. Thus we propose that it may be held on the PNWU grounds as an outdoor ceremony, The Yakima Convention Center, or anywhere else where more can attend. As mentioned before, we admire the beauty of Capitol Theatre but we prefer modest settings in order for more to attend.

We, the people whom have signed this petition, desire a change in the venue for the PNWU Graduation Ceremonies for the Class of 2018. It is important to us to have our selected family and friends in attendance, and not be severely limited to the amount we invite. It is of utmost importance that we bring this issue to your attention. Thank you.
