friends and family have already made plans for June 4th for graduation. My brother has planned his trip from Hawaii on military leave, to come see me graduate June 4th, not the 10th.

our class has been through Coatesville's worst years. The least you could do is keep our graduation where it is for everyone who has already made travel, party, and work plans.

lots of people already have parties/vacations planned.. we were told it was completely locked in and now were going to loose money having to cancel flights/rentals/etc. in order to recieve their diploma in front of their parents.

the decision will be unfair. Students and their families have already made plans. A mistake was made and this should serve as experience for it to not happen again. It is too late to make any changes on the date of graduation for the class of 2015.

The class of 2015 has been working towards our graduation day for thirteen years now. We’ve been told all our lives that our dedication and our efforts will amount to one specific day that everything will “pay off.” We’ve been told that walking across the stage at graduation, that we would feel a sense of pride and accomplishment that is surely the sole satisfaction we have been striving towards. With the initial date change from June 10th, 2015 to June 4th, 2015, an overwhelming sense of excitement was abuzz about the campus - teachers and students alike. Your word, and your promise that graduation would in fact, officially be held on June 4th, 2015, unaffected by potential snow days, made it real. The seniors all felt the surrealness that comes with the confirmation of “the big day.” Despite the fact that non-refundable plane tickets have been purchased directly following June 4th, the fact that families from vast distances are sacrificing their personal time and expenses, the fact that there are mandatory college orientation sessions to be held that have already been scheduled, this community can not afford to have this date withdrawn, again. Speaking from a analogous perspective, consider the indignation that an inmate in a federal prison would feel, after having behaved and “done their time,” for their 13 year sentence, was told a month before their official release date, that additional time had been added to their sentence - due to the institutions own blunder. I speak on behalf of the class of 2015 when I pose, “Whose word can we trust?” Is this scenario indicative of more official recalls to come? The class of 2015 have stuck to our word to behave, attend classes, and persevere through thirteen years of schooling along with a very tumultuous high school career. We ask that you stick to yours.
