This is a petition to get UOPX to create a course called Class Diversity. In this class students well study the wealth gap in America and the world. I came up with this petition because I am taking a Cultural Diversity class at University of Phoenix. I am learning about race, ethnicity, and cultural relations in America. I think these issues are important in America, but what is more important and affecting every American is the wealth gap that is growing bigger and bigger. America has made great strides in fixing race relations in America. Americans elected the first Black President, but has not elected the first middle class member president. There are still problems in race relations, but the biggest problem is the wealth gap. During the economy recovery every politician is bragging about, the richest 1% of Americans took 93% of the gains in 2010. Between June 2009 and June 2011 the median household income fell 6.7 percent. America has turned into an oligarchy where the few control the wealth and political process of the republic. Ever notice how most of your neighbors, friends, and coworkers oppose the wars and bailouts. Still these bailouts and wars go on without the average Americans voice being heard. America was great because of its thriving middle class that was the envy of the world; not because of its big military and big vulture Wall-Street banks.
