The Climate Innovation District Residents and Tenants Association in Hunslet, Leeds, LS10, request that Leeds City Council arranges a Traffic Survey for Clarence Road, Leeds, LS10, to establish the volume, nature and speed of traffic.

Our concern is that Clarence Road is not suitable for the volume, nature and speed of the traffic that passes through a growing residential area. We are concerned about the noise, vibration and pollution caused by this traffic.

We believe, as Sayner Road and Chadwick Street no longer allow access to the Hunslet Road, a large volume of industrial, construction, commercial and private traffic is funnelled into Clarence Road. Much of this traffic is Heavy Goods Vehicles going to and from the Crown Point Development, the BRAIME factory, and the Procon 24 Hour Concrete facility.

Carrying out a Traffic Survey will provide objective data that can inform the consideration of alleviating measures like a 20mph zone, signage and reengineering.

The level of engagement for this petition has exceeded my initial expectations. This surge of interest demonstrates a clear mandate from the community to address the ongoing traffic concerns on Clarence Road.

Drivers would be really helped by having something to remind them that this has become a much more residential area and that they need to drive more slowly and steadily along Clarence Road. There are very few clues for drivers that the area has changed and that they need to take extra care.

I would welcome a survey. Clarence road and Armouries Drive alike are difficult for pedestrians to cross safely.

This road often has cars tearing down it at 40mph+. We would like something to be done as we walk out baby down there.

An accident is waiting to happen due to the high volume of light to heavy vehicles. A large amount of pollution is created by the dust and dirt kicked up.

Solar Avenue. Speeding vehicles make it feel dangerous when going to Crown Point shopping centre on foot.
