Dear Canadian Junior Hockey League Board of Governors,

Because of the coronavirus/Covid-19 pandemic; the Canadian Junior Hockey League should take the initiative and have all current 2019-2020 number of 20 year old players allowed to compete one more year with their respective teams, commencing with the approaching 2020-21 regular season.

This would be a once in a lifetime opportunity to salvage all current 20 year old players hockey season. This new rule would only be implemented for the 2020-2021 regular season/playoffs.

Currently each of the 10 leagues and 133 teams that comprise the CJHL have cancelled/postponed the 2019-2020 regular season/playoffs because of the coronavirus/Covid-19 pandemic. This exceptional rule would permit all 20 year old players(in their last year of junior eligibility 2019-2020) to play one more regular hockey season and have a chance to fight for one more playoff push.

Beginning with the 2020-21 campaign, CJHL clubs would be allowed this one time opportunity to use all their current 20 year old players to play one additional year with their respective junior hockey team. This would take effect by the commencement of the 2020-21 training camp/regular season.

With this one time ruling; this would not prohibit a current 20-year-old(2019-2020) from signing with their respective teams for the up-coming 2020-2021 regular season.

However,at no time, can the current 20-year-old player(2019-2020) participate in any games exceeding the 2020-2021 season/playoffs.

This once in a lifetime opportunity would salvage the 20 year old 2019-2020 hockey season and favor their hockey development.

Thank you,

Denis Dalrymple(Hockey Fan)
