An incredibly important learning tool that helps enforce concepts of steel design for Civil Engineering Students.

A very important educational tool to teach aspiring structural engineers about steel frame connections. It deserves a new home where people can learn from it.

The civil structure is a staple for most schools with a civil engineering degree. It's a shame that it's no longer by JHE.

The space between JHE and the Hatch across from IAHS would be perfect!

The civil structure not only served as an educational tool but also as a standalone art piece. I believe it is important for us (engineers) to embrace our creative and artistic sides as well. An art piece with an actual function is a beautiful analogy for the study of engineering. Please bring back the Civil Structure for all to see, admire, and learn from!

The civil structure was an integral part of my experience at McMaster and an excellent learning tool for my steel design course in my final year. McMaster needs to get its act together and find the structure a new home. I paid extra tuition for a building that I never got to use as a result of a referendum where I voted no, the least the university can do is reinstate this tool so other students do not miss out.

I would love to see the Civil Structure restored to its full beauty and educational purpose.

The Civil Structure wasting away in Lot M would be a shame as it is a great teaching tool as well as a symbol of pride for not just civil engineers but all of McMaster engineers. Personally I remember being drawn to it on my tour of McMaster when I was applying to university. I hope it is brought back to campus for all to see.

It is my belief that in order to respect and continue traditions the civil structure should be kept close to the engineering buildings on campus

Civil Structures are monuments to Civil Engineering and education around the world. With McMaster University's Civil Engineering program being rated 3rd in Canada, and 29th in the world, it is only obvious that as an educational institution with a fantastic international reputation, it keeps this symbol of practical design and building. As well, it is a point of pride for Civil Engineers to be publicly acknowledged, and as such a unique structure, it will serve to inspire wonder and curiosity for prospective students for generations to come if it properly relocated.

If adequate space can be found on campus, the civil structure means a lot to a lot of students. It would be a shame to see it leave permanently.
