I think the city should strongly consider changing this, to allow for fairer rules for the residents, and to give rescues an opportunity to have a loving home instead of being trapped in a shelter, also relieving some of the pressure on these hard working shelters.

Owen Sound needs to improve their by-laws to both encourage the adoption of shelter animals and prevent the dumping of dogs at shelters by residents concerned with complying with an unreasonable restriction of a 2 dog per household limit. While at it, they should also take a look at City by-laws which are still allowing pet stores to sell puppies, which supports and encourages puppy mills and irresponsible backyard breeding. Both of these issues are not complimentary to the City of Owen Sound.

I can hardly believe this is an issue when animal shelters are overflowing and begging for people to adopt pets into loving and safe environments.
Come on Owen Sound get with the program!!!
People that want to be able to legally register their pets are not the problem!! They are responsible pet owners.

Unbelievable! What is wrong with people! Now your going to have a lot of rescue animals, family pets, and to choose which four legged family member has to leave!!!! Instead why don't we get rid of these stupid politicians that do nothing but collect a pay check!!!
