Let's face it, that was an invasion not a discovery, America was already populated and didn't need to be discovered.
I think indigenous or native people deserve to be celebrated across the american continent, after all, they were slaved in their own soil, murdered, abused, their land was ran sacked by European countries and all in the name of their crown and the church.
I think if not changed it should be removed all together.
Why should invasion, genocide and thievery be celebrated or be awarded a holiday, restitution should be at least considered.
