The City of Manitowoc's Mission Must Include "Arts, Humanities, & Cultural Diversity"

I am a former resident of Manitowoc and the arts have always been important to me.

Thank you for all the hard work you do Theresa! You have much support behind you!

Involve all interested citizens in creating the new statement.

The new mission statement is not grammatically correct, and it lacks inspiration.

As a former resident of Manitowoc, and who is now going to college, I believe that embracing the arts, humanities, and cultural diversity will make people like me want to live there. While I believe that improved public safety, infrastructure, and public services are important to our city's economy and well-being, omitting the statement about the arts, humanities, and cultural diversity shows that the city of Manitowoc does not care about these values. We need to embrace these values so we can improve ourselves as a city.

We are about the arts and cultural diversity here in Manitowoc and growing in numbers daily!

What was the purpose of the change?

This petition misrepresents what actually happened. The measure went before the council and was amended a couple of times before being passed by the council, so it's not like the other council members had no input. Also, the public had an opportunity for input at that time, but apparently no one cared. The mission statement is part of the "Strategic Plan" and is taken out of context here. Mission statement should be put up to what it was!! This makes very upset. The gall of her. Are her and Trump related??

Article in the HTR was very vague in providing information on how to sign your position. When going to the website listed there is no clear indication of which petition is being addressed. I think you would receive more signatures if this additional information was available

I can`t understand why anyone would think it appropriate or necessary to eliminate a phrase that indicates and promotes good solid, healthy, compassionate values when describing our community. I support retaining the words and that th emission statement remain as original

I can see the need for infrastructure improvement, but add it to the previous statement, don't eliminate the previous mission.

I support the arts, humanities, and cultural diversity. Manitowoc, you can do better. Now is not the time to be repressing anyone ; it is the time to be embracing everyone.

We need to set a better example for our future, our children. It is our responsibility to create an environment that welcomes and celebrates the arts, humanities and cultural diversity. We need to do better when we know better!

Does one person have the right to redefine what our community is and who we are? I think not.

Diversity is what makes us Manitowoc, our community should be celebrated for its diversity.

We must include for the intention of this community to thrive!
