Does the Dothan 101 class tell you that a the difference is around $75 per month for an average 1500 kWh house this summer. $75 that each city resident looses forming being on witegrass electric... And who pays there bill in person anyway? For the record I don't think a lawsuit is necessary. An amended law passed by Al leadership.

Paying two companies is ridiculous. I pay Co-op for electricity and Dothan for water. My bills (combined) are ridiculous in comparison to others with the same circumstances using Dothan Utilities. If given a choice, some may choose Co-op, but at least give us an option.

It is a hassle to pay Wiregrass Electric for electricity and Dothan Utilities for water/sewage! That is how we are over charged...easily $300.00 each month!!!

I would love an option. It is horrible to have Wiregrass Electric, when my neighbor across the street has Dothan Utilities AND I live behind 2 Dothan City Schools.

NO WAY! WIREGRASS ELECTRIC IS BEST! It appears quite short sighted to think that if Dothan Utilities must buy the Wiregrass Electric infrastructure, which is new and not dilapidated, prices will remain the same and not increase for everyone utilizing Dothan Utilities. Wiregrass Electric offices are close to the West Side of Dothan. We don't need to travel all the way downtown to make a payment. The offices are new, the service is better. In addition, we rarely have outages after storms as compared to Dothan City utilities. You get what you pay for! Perhaps Ms.Bryan should pay for the lawsuit and the purchase of the added infrastructure?
This makes no fiscal sense for all the citizens of Dothan. Everyone will have to pay more in the city for a few complaints. To think otherwise, is ignorant of what it takes to run a city. Get educated, take the Dothan 101 class!

Yes Todd, it should not be be as high as it is and I am not accusing Wiregrass of doing anything like that but they could... We all know they waste some of the co-op money because the proof is in that full color magazine we all throw away every few months! Ive heard the City prices will go up; it is about the price but it is also the principal.

If you guys want to know what really happens with the money made from the higher Co-Op prices look no further than what happened in Greenville, AL with Pioneer Electric Co-op and owner Malloy Chandler. Co-ops are supposed to redistribute any profits back to the people under which the Co-op serves, hence the name Cooperative. But Pioneer Electric cooked the books and made upper management very wealthy.
