The purpose of this petition is to show support for the proposed shooting range on the Linville track game lands in Burke county. It has been long overdue for a public shooting range in western NC. Many responsible firearm owners each year struggle to find public land to target practice. Sport shooting is no different than kayaking, hiking, camping, hunting, fishing, or boating. Each of the activities listed is known as outdoor recreations and no group is more important than the next. To single out one group is selfish and should not be tolerated. As a signer of this petition we urge North Carolina Wildlife Recourse Commission (NCWRC) to continue with the proposed shooting range at the proposed location which is off of Wolf Pit Rd. near Hwy 126.
