I'm thinking there getting to greedy cus I've seen them out with there vans sitting on the side of the road after 10:00 pm.
Like really Geezzuusss. N also heard that they were sitting in school zones after 9:00pm. Like what's up with that. Now there getting as crooked as the rest of society. Like really come on now. Bunch of crooks

You people are crazy. You complain about photo radar because it's not in school or playground zones and complain it doesn't deter speeders but then you want it in those zones to nap speeders knowing it's not going to deter them. I rather have real cops in school and playground zones and photo radar everywhere else.

Please use the photo radar program for what is was intended to do, remind citizens to slow down in playground, school zones and high collision areas.

Photo radars should only be in areas where speed is a concern - school zones mainly. They are being placed in ridiculous areas, and they certainly aren't deterring some people.

Photo radar is not an effective deterrent. Receiving a ticket three weeks later in the mail does not make me slow down. I don't believe there is much evidence to show that photo radar is effective law enforcement.

The city has used this as a source of revenue, they dont even use "real" police. It is farmed out to some ten buck an hour company. I knew when this was introduced year ago that it would be abused by the police and used as a cash cow. The real question is, what are they spending the 6+ million on each year? Would love to audit those financials! I miss officer friendly, it has turned into everyone is a suspect, black ops stuff. As a side note, why not review the areas they place photo radar... Notice it is often disproportionately placed in "well-to-do" neighbourhoods. Home owners that can pay and make way more than a ticket is worth to take a day off work to challenge. Not defending speeding, but keep this stuff in the playgrounds!

Any enforcement program should at its heart be based on improving the safety of a community not on raising money for the local government through citations. Too often the photo box is placed in areas where safety is of little concern as opposed to protecting the vulnerable areas where children could be the victims.

First day of school was yesterday, and I passed photo radar at 2:30pm on Gershaw Drive just as you come into the 50km/hr zone. Entrapment I believe is what they call it.
