Infrastructure cannot handle much more. Can you imagine the volume of folks that would be landlocked on the roads during a storm? Smithfield is revered for its small town, tranquil community and is quickly turning into an extension of Hampton & Newport News. Wildlife is running out of habitat & Walmart is sure to follow and impact our local merchants.

My zip code is 23314. I am opposed to the volume of houses proposed in the MP development. Specifically this County cannot support the traffic on our roads which are already crowded, our schools cannot support these numbers. Let the developers stick to the original plans!!

Our schools are already overcrowded and in disrepair (Hardee and Westside are a mess) and our roads are congested. No further housing development without a reasonable and fiscally sound infrastructure plan! My former neighbors and I fought once to prevent our quiet, dead end road from becoming another cut through from 17 to Smiths Neck. We eventually moved from the “Carrollton Corridor” to the west side of Smithfield to get away from the daily traffic and noise, although the work commute remains frustrating on 17, Smiths Neck (which has become dangerous), Nike Park and the JRB.... #23430

Not til infrastructure is in place to handle construction equipment, with roads, appropriate sewage/drainage, traffic controls and environmental impacts are provided to surrounding residence.

Leave the farm land as it is. Quit littering Smithfield with more buildings.

The county and town do not have, and will not have, the infrastructure to support this development as planned. This type of development belongs in Chesapeake or Virginia Beach.

We do not need a bunch of apartment complex that destroys existing home values and quality of life by a developer that does not care about the damage he does to IOW and its citizens.
