Our town is already facing enough housing and traffic issues without the addition of more! Over 800 more units is absolutely INSANE! If we wanted to live in an area with this much housing we would just move to an area like Newport News. More housing at this scale will only cause more problems!

This size project is not beneficial for the community or business of Smithfield.

"They paved paradise and put up a parking lot". Overdevelopment is destroying the Smithfield we all love. Please SLOW DOWN on overly zealous development. We are turning Smithfield into just another suburb lacking in character but full of traffic congestion and the other ugly aspects of more dense & populated areas, ie, traffic jams, noise and more noise, light pollution, anger & unhappy people all packed up in close quarters. I grew up on Battery Park Road more than 40 years ago and I am already amazed at the massive growth since my childhood. We do not need such a development in that area. Please do not allow the development to overtake what was, and continues to be, so wonderful about living in such a beautiful, small, family oriented community. Many people have already come just for that reason. Please, let’s keep the “big boys” out of our town!

We can not afford the schools and services for this project. Allowing it is irresponsible.

The traffic in Isle of Wight is already too much! If this continues we will be no different than VA Beach, except for the fact that they don’t have to leave their city to shop and we do! Can you imagine all of these people added to the traffic we already have fighting traffic to go over the bridge or to Portsmouth to shop! The taxpayers dollars wouldn’t even stay in our county! I say NO!

We need to preserve our forests and farmlands, not build on them, not when there's so many empty acres that have already been built on and are now empty. We need to rebuild on those sites not our farmlands. These areas pride themselves on being a rural community and should not be forced out because of greedy developers and even greedier city council members

I don't think you need more homes. We need more schools. We need more shopping and dining areas. We also need more programs for underprivileged kids then more homes.
