BAE Systems designs, manufactures, and sells military weapons and equipment, including electronic warfare systems, components for fighter jets, combat vehicles, gun systems, explosives, and drones. After an indiscriminate bombing campain with over 50,000 civilian deaths- 15,000 of which were children- its is common sense that the university cannot be sensibly encouraging students to be citizens of change AND complicit in genocide.
Vice chancellor Nishan Canagarajah reckons that STEM students are interested in working with BAE- justifying their presence- but most students didn't work this hard to waste their efforts on war criminals. We want to make real change in the world and use our work to save lives, not take them.

The momentum behind this initiative demonstrates that our community refuses to remain silent regarding the university's partnerships. It is clear that a vast number of students reject the normalization of these relationships on campus grounds. We are now preparing to present these collective demands to the university administration.

Completely disgusting that the uni is still linked with these people. Makes me sick to see their branding on campus
why are we even debating this? BAE profits off death and the uni needs to cut ties immediately
Get ric of the starbucks and HP!! no more support for companies that support or fund genocide
It’s shameful that we’re even having to sign this. It’s not hard for the university to do the right thing.
The situation in Gaza is so horrific that the usual arguments are no longer valid. All institutions and individuals have a moral responsibility to do everything in their power to end genocide, apartheid and the occupation
Remove all arm companies which manufacture and supply the war effort.

It’s time for our universities to get more familiar with ethics and morality and less familiar with arms dealers, oligarchs and huge corporations and conglomerates that only serve shareholders. Invest in people again. Invest in students again.
