We the people of Chattanooga and surrounding areas protest our area of more coal mining. Coal mining in this purposed area ceased 80 years ago for obvious reasons. Coal mining not only destroys our environment but puts our health in jeopardy. The purposed coal mining area Walden's Ridge near Dayton area water is already toxic. Instead of coal mining, we ask that you enforce and create jobs by the use of renewables and solar in our area. We also shun the words and purposal from this given statement " If permitted by state and federal officials, the mining operation will serve a new world market, according to Dave Fortner, partner in Iron Properties, which will operate the mine and processing operation". We would also like to request that we be concerned for our area rather than the World. We need to take care of our land and people and allow other countries to take care of their own individuals and land.
