What we as gold prospector do, does not hurt the environment, animals or plant life, on the contrary it improves the environment, we remove a lot of contaminants in the course of what we do, we also pick up trash left by other users of the areas we prospect in.

Enjoying the Outdoors and gold prospecting as a recreation are freedoms that were fought for. If gold prospecting is banned in Tennessee then let's get serious and stop the real pollutors to our streams. Factory pollution and Fertilizer Pollution are the culprits. Shut it all down. We don't need any meat or any items built in a factory. Heck, anything you want just order it from China. But let's stop that lonely prospector with the "gold pan" in his hand.
Don't Tread On Me, Give me Liberty or Give Me Death.
Or maybe better put, What Our Own Davy Crockett once said. If this happens, " I am going to Texas and the rest of you can Go To Hell "

the fish follow me around when i prospect. i have even witnessed one swimming up my sluice. i leave behind no particle of man made garbage. i have spent thousands of dollars in the local towns over a few years of time and recovered at the most 100 dollars worth of gold and about my weight in garbage others have left behind. but some things are about the experience, people you meet, and the improvement in yourself, feeling alive! are you going to tell the farmers to remove their cattle or stop growing their crops? i see much of the contaminates listed in many of the rivers come from said. the worst on the list come from people with money and power backing them which apparently heed no laws. there is no logic in proposed regulations, just like it seems like there is no logic in spending thousands to recover tiny little particles of gold. prospectors are the same as every other hunter/fisherman/outdoor enthusiast /even provider for his family. i don't think that my words will make any difference in this matter but i had to speak them.do what you will.

I say this affects everyone in the state of TN. I live here and a lot of things are passed on the sneaky side. I can't figure out why this is happening. What does the state have to gain from this? I think it's a loss for us all.

For people like me, this is a hobby. So whats next, ban bowling because of the noise level? I know that statement sounds silly but banning prospecting in our inland waterways doesn't harm them it helps by aerating them. As long as we prospect responsibly there is no harm to the environment.

If these rules and regulations as written becomes law, I will no longer plan any of my vacations to go to Tennessee.

Do the right thing and set the rules using common sense and proven studies, not conjectures, maybes, possibles harm, etc. that have been used in so called other studies and enacting other rules and regulations in other states, these false statement and conjectures have been put out by the so-called environmentalists, which most of these groups are only in this because of the money to be made by frivolous lawsuits and getting donations from citizen that have been feed false evidence!

It is imperative that these arcane regulations be stopped and a realistic common sense approach be taken in the regulation of prospecting in Tennessee!
The erosion of our personal freedoms in this country is an issue I am passionate about! If these regulations do not directly affect you, you can sit back and do nothing. But trust me when I say that they will eventually. I strongly believe that now is the time to take a stand and help those in need! You are next!
