Charters are not the answer. All you are doing is redirecting your funds away from the students and into the wallets of investors. The students get screwed.

A for profit charter company's first priority will be profit, not the students' best interest. In order to show impressive results they will eventually find a way to exclude the students with lesser abilities, who "bring the scores down". Public education supported by the taxpayers needs to remain public and non-profit.
