Commercial flights would greatly diminish the quality of life in Carlsbad, San Marcos, Oceanside and Vista and its surrounding neighbors, should the airport expansion go through. Noise pollution, cancer-causing jet fuel fallout,devastated property values, increased taxes, increased traffic and road congestion, increased crime, increased illness, and disruption of classrooms, hospitals, church services,and sleep are the realitiesfor the residents of North County if this unnecessary airport expansion occurs.
There is no need for another commercial airport so close (35 miles) to San Diego International Airport.The City of Carlsbad and its mayor, Matt Hall, along with Supervisor Bill Horn and the County of San Diego Airport Commission have vowed to commit to building a bigger airport. Still, residents, who can have the greatest impact, are needed to speak out against this atrocity by voicing their opposition.Let's protect ourselves from corporate and governmental greed by preserving the integrity of North County, and ultimately all of Carlsbad and surrounding neighborhoods, by killing this deal!

We just hit one hundred signatures against the Palomar expansion. Matt Hall and the Board of Commissioners need to understand that we refuse to let them destroy our neighborhoods for their own greed.

Way too close to residential areas. Go downtown and sit by their airport for ten minutes and see how irritating the sound is from the large planes. And City of Carlsbad - did you not just learn your lesson with the failing of Measure A? Carlsbad citizens do NOT want more buildings and expansion! We are DONE.
As citizens we should not have to plead with our elected officials. Just do the right thing. There is no need for an expansion at Palomar airport which was and is a general aviation facility. I am against any expansion and I am a licensed pilot.
Already, private and corporate jets arriving from the north turn and start their descent towards Palomar just south of Camp Pendleton. They are using a wide swath of north county as an approach path. The expansion will be more jets and noise for all of north county.
My husband and I are residents of Carlsbad Aviara for the last 17 years. A John Wayne type Airport is completely unacceptable for all of us. If we wanted to live that we could move up to Irvine.
When we bought our property we were promised a small airport with few flights. It is lowd, the planes taking off before six AM wake me up many mornings and sometimes after 1:00AM. We smell the fumes daily. The traffic on Palomar Airport Road is increased noticeably.
I strongly oppose the proposed Carlsbad / Palomar airport expansion. This will negatively impact the quality of life for residents across North County, increase sound pollution, increase traffic, and decrease surrounding property values.
Keep Palomar a B-II airport .. NO expansion

Not only does the mayor want to move the runway north amd lengthen it by 800 ft, but the plan also includes a foot bridge over El Camino Real and a high-end retail center on the north east corner of one of THE busiest intersections in Carlsbad
