To whom it may concern:

We, the undersigned citizens of Concord and other concerned citizens, petition the Concord City Council to deny any request for a “buffer zone” around the Concord Feminist Health Center. It is unnecessary, and an infringement upon our first amendment rights.

A concerned prolife American who loves NH. Please sign and promote this petition as much as you can. Thank you! My college friends who prayed outside the Concord abortion facility (aka Concord Feminist Health Center) on Friday mornings had a permit, didn't block access to the facility nor passage of at least two people walking side by side on the sidewalk, didn't hold signs, and didn't even speak to those going in. Abortions were performed on Friday mornings, a weekday morning, a time when college students would rather sleep. Yet, my friends recognized that they had an opportunity to exercise their rights as US Citizens to pray that no one would come to harm in that facility, and to raise awareness to the Concord community of the facility, and it’s controversial presence. My friends would stand on the sidewalk in front of the facility regularly despite snow and ice to pray and witness to the women and children being victimized, to be that last sign of hope of other alternatives, and the first sign of mercy and love should they decide to leave the facility. THE POLICE NEVER CAME TO ADDRESS THEM. Furthermore, my friends abided the law, and obtained a permit to pray on the public sidewalk, be it a just or unjust obligation. Enacting a “buffer zone” in front of this facility is unnecessary. Moreover, I would contend it’s unjust to discuss a buffer zone, when many of the people it would affect are back home for the summer, and are unable to fight against this injustice being done to them. They definitely had an impact on the community, since, among other reasons, the facility is located on Main St., Concord. People have stopped and thanked them, spat on them, shouted at them, etc...One day, as they were leaving, a vehicle stopped near them, and a woman gratefully encouraged their presence saying it was because of people like them doing what they were doing that her son was in the backseat. Please sign and promote this petition! UPDATE: Notification has just been received that the petition FOR a buffer zone (around the abortion facility in Concord, NH) will not be addressed at the July 8th City Council meeting as thought (http://www.concordmonitor.com/news/localstate/6303978-95/petition-seeks-buffer-zone-for-protesters-at-concord-feminist-health-center); however, it may still be addressed at the Aug. 12, 2013 Concord City Council meeting, so please stay vigilant. God bless!
