To Whom It May Concern:

My name is Ashley Bucks, and I am a homeowner within the Vallitas gate in the Cibolo Canyons neighborhood. I, along with many other families within the neighborhood, am greatly concerned about the boundary changes that are being discussed between Cibolo Green Elementary and Roan Forest Elementary. I would first like to state that I am fully aware that both elementary schools are fantastic and that our children would get a good education at either school. My concern is not about which school is better. My concern is that by moving homes within any of the Cibolo Canyons gates, you would be severely changing the community that is the Cibolo Canyons neighborhood.

While we may have several subdivisions with the umbrella of “Cibolo Canyons, “ we are still one neighborhood. All of our subdivisions are members of the same Amenity Center, where many of our children participate in swim team together and where we as a Cibolo Canyons neighborhood participate in community projects that benefit Cibolo Green Elementary School (ex: At our back to school swim party, school supplies donations are our “ticket” for entry and then our neighborhood donates these supplies to Cibolo Green).

I realize that something needs to be done to address the overcrowding that is occurring at Cibolo Green. However, I strongly disagree that separating any homes from Cibolo Canyons is the best solution. This would cause a huge division within our neighborhood and would completely change the neighborhood dynamic that Cibolo Canyons is known for. Dividing our neighborhood would cause a separation where the area moved to a different school would be made to feel out of touch with the rest of our community.

I think it is very important that the school board consider all homes within Cibolo Canyons as one neighborhood entity before even considering drawing a boundary line that would divide our neighborhood between two different elementary schools. The impact this would have on our community would be devastating, and I hope that this is considered heavily in your decision. I strongly urge the people responsible for making this important decision to look at the whole picture and think about the impact their decision will have on a very tight knit community if a boundary line is drawn dividing Cibolo Canyons into separate schools.

Sincerely,

Ashley Bucks(Homeowner, Cibolo Canyons – Vallitas)
