Use of Chromebooks in Nadeen School, Bahrain Year 4

I think its too early in year 4 for the kids to sit that much infront of electronic devices...

i think children should still use books

I strongly believe that the introduction of these devices will lead to the dependence of using them all the time and the students won't acquire the sense of effort in handwriting and reading. Not to mention that chromebooks should be provided by school.

First,i think that it is too early for 8-9years old children to spend their school hours infron of the screen. They MUST wright with pencil and stil develop their fine motor scills. Also they need to learn to communicate live,not online. Second,if the school wants to make teachers life easier than school has to provide this books. Third, it is too early to buy so expencive device 5 months before. We are all temporary here and never know when will be the time to leave Bahrain.

I think the introduction of chromebooks in year 4 is too early. The OECD study shows that students who use computers very frequently at school get worse results (check bbc.com/news/business-34174796 for more information)

I do personally believe that students at age of 8 and 9, do not need to be exposed to any device for a such a long period. It's much more important to master in handwriting , reading and using a school textbooks (which nadeen doesn't provide). I am deeply disappointed that institution such as school force parents to purchase something at this cost instead of providing as they said it's mandatory. PS. Oral report is just going on and the most common teachers comments about our kids are that they have to work more on handwriting and spelling! Well how it will improve if they are going to spend 30% of school time on this devices and plus homework! Regards Jelena

I think year 3 is too early to spend 30percent of the school hours infront of a electronic device - not to mention the homework.

Hi Xeina just read your question on is it too early to order. Defiantly not we ordered in may and only got then October for year 5/6. I detested having to pay for them and feel it should be part of schools resources. I also felt that the use was going to be too great. However the teachers have now got a good balance pen vs' pad. Hope this is reassuring

I believe that the devices should be purchased by the school and then lended to students. Also, it is too early to order (5 months in advance)..
