According to the United States Environmental Protection Agency, humans, on average, produce about 4.38 pounds of garbage per day [1]. This means that CBU’s full time faculty and students alone create nearly 3,000,000 pounds of waste every year. Kate Bollinger, Daniel Neigelberg, and I are creating a project concept that could reduce CBU’s annual waste by over 700,000 pounds. We are creating a research proposal focused on revitalizing CBU’s on-campus composting program through utilizing Alfonso Dining Hall’s unused food.
