The night of the Grammy's, news broke of the physical altercation between the singers Chris Brown and Rhianna. Not only was it sad to hear about, but extremely disappointing coming from Chris Brown. What was even more disappointing was Rhianna not being able to respect herself enough to leave the man who beat her up. As a young women myself, I expect so much more from men, but I especially expect more from women. Since the news broke of the fight, me and my family have been avoiding all Chris Brown and Rhianna songs. I would like to propose this to everyone else in America. I do not wish to support men beating up women, and I most definately do not support women giving up their confidence and respect for themselves to men.
I really did not think this would gain any traction at all when I first sat down to write it but here we are and it is honestly wild to see so many people feeling that same deep frustration. It is just so loud in my head sometimes thinking about how we ignore these things and I am honestly just really grateful that you all are choosing to pay attention.
