Chris Rutherford must stay. The free junior lessons is innovative and frankly the best selling point the club has for attracting new members and building future income. In addition, this investment in the youth will return a future group of club members. He is indirectly increasing revenue to the club thru the kids by giving parents opportunity and reason to increase club attendance and expenditures at the club. If Chris leaves, you WILL see a drop in attendance. The free junior lessons program has great potential for expansion now the word is getting out. You can expect even additional growth in the coming year. His work with the kids is phenomenal: he possesses incredible patience, incredible ability to connect to the kids, garner their trust, and gain their attention---unmatched by anybody I've ever met. His efforts and abilities cannot be replicated to the same degree of success.

I've been a member for 40 years and have never seen this many children playing golf at the club. Girls and boys, this is the future of this club. Chris is totally responsible for this.

I am of the opinion that free golf for juniors is one of the best selling points for new membership at the VCC.

Chris Rutherford is the BEST!! Keeping Chris should be The VCC's first priority. I can assure you without him membership will decrease.

Golf for our boys was one of the main reasons we joined in May. The opportunity that Chris has given our boys has made a positive impact on furthering their interest in golf. He has given them a confidence they need to keep going and playing each week!

I am at a lose for words! I don't even know where to start! I have seen poor decisions made at this club since I was a child! The only thing that will ever fix the VCC's problems is what is going on right now!!! --Junior Golf-- It will produce more income across the board! Chris has an awesome thing going! Please don't make the wrong decision again!

Chris Rutherford has been a wonderful asset to the Jr. Golf program at the VCC. His leadership has inspired interest for golfers of all ages. As a parent, I cannot thank him enough for what he has done with this program and the positive influence he has had on my son.

Chris is a valuable asset to VCC. Just look at the participation in the parent/child scramble recently. Our kids have made huge strides in their skills & love to be at the golf course. It's good to know that my kids are safe & staying out of trouble. Also the kids are enjoying being there with their friends.... It takes a special kind of person to work with all those kids & keep them in line. Plus the Jr program was a selling Point to the new members this summer.

Maybe some thought should go into hiring a General Manager and giving Chris Some additional responsibilities. This should sufficiently cover the clubs needs for a while. If the GM doesn't feel like the employees are working out then address the issue. Maybe this can be accomplished within the budget constraints of the club until the financial outlook is in better position to look for a traditional club professional.

Chris has done so many wonderful things with our children, most importantly instilling in them greater confidence, self discipline, and motivation.
