No need to pave the path. Spend the money on affordable housing.

This path is too close to too many houses and yards to be widened.

Keep the pathway natural.

Please keep this path as is. If it is paved people will be travelling at greater speeds than they already do, especially those on e-bikes. Keep it safe for humans and wildlife.

Blacktop Krausert's attitude sure seems like "it's going to be my way...and I want a highway!" Not only is this short sighted, but arrogant and disrespectful towards those who once trusted him to serve the needs of Canmore residents. The Mayor's self-professed 'conflict resolution' skills are sure collecting dust as he avoids any Town-wide forum to flush out how unwanted, unpopular and unnecessary paving would be, much less widening the paths and bridges to 3.5-5.5m. Done deal? Don't count on it! Jackhammers to tear up asphalt will be pennies compared to the $1M you will waste of taxpayer's money to pave Canmore's beloved gravel paths.

One of the reasons that we bought in Canmore was to enjoy the pathways whether walking or cycling. The town has already destroyed the roadways for vehicle traffic due to the large wide bike lanes; please do not do the same for the pathways. This encourages bikers to disobey regulations for speeding, dismounting bike at crosswalks, etc.

If I wanted to walk on endless pavement I would have moved to Calgary.

Enough with the UN "sustainable development" agenda. Just an excuse to police pathways and expand government control of every aspect of our lives.

This is not environmentally friendly.

As a Senior biker who uses this and other paths, the plan of the Town is VERY WRONG. It will increase the speed, making it dangerous for us recreational users, which is not the way to go. Mayor and councillors - please re-think this bad plan.

No public consultation on this! Don't need a bike highway in an area also frequented by wildlife. Keep it wild.

Opposed. Where/when was public input. Planners and admin are acting irresponsible and are out of control.

What next? Plowing and sanding!

Leave it alone. Tax dollars could be better spent elsewhere.

Please leave the pathway as it is. Paving and widening not needed. More accidents due to bike speeding will result if paved, widened, streetlights added. Save all that money and respect nature!

Makes no sense at all. Icy in winter, light pollution, dangerous, unnatural, ++++
