Choice Fm has recently been re-branded as Capital Extra, completely removing Choice FM from it's true Urban roots, and replacing specialist Gospel, Soca and Reggae DJ's with DJ's that will play commercial, popular urban music that reaches the masses, rather than the core audience originally targeted by Choice FM back in the 90's, when they played Music aimed at a Black British audience; Music of our culture and heritage that could not be heard on mainstream radio. Yes, the station has lost it's way over the years from it's Brixton roots, but remember, it was still the only radio station dedicated to playing real urban music. To see it completely diminished in this way is disappointing, and it leaves a gaping hole in mainstream radio, with nothing to fill it's shoes.
