Whilst acknowledging the difficult economic climate, we urge the Secretary of State for Education, to allow Chiswick Community School's promised funding - for essential refurbishment and rebuilding - to proceed as planned.
The funding is vital for these reasons:
1. Chiswick Community School is the only secondary school in Chiswick and serves at least six local primary schools.
2. The educational opportunities of many local children will be vastly improved as a result of this long-term investment.
3. The Local Authority has identified Chiswick as the secondary school most in need of refurbishment.
4. The school also serves the wider community. Many groups use the buildings outside school hours for sports and adult education. The school is also home to a long-standing community music school.
Please help protect and improve our local school.
