To whom it may concern;

      My daughter attends a school within the Houston County Board of Educational System in Ga. and I feel that not only are the adults bullying her due to her appearance but, because she won't defend herself to an adult.
      Educators are more concerned about the appearance of the children being a distraction and I feel that it's more of a distraction when the child can't wear their hair atleast at their own style or color. I think it's sad that our educators have nothing more to do than to make the esteem of our children worse. Everything that the school system is doing is breaking Ammendments of our children.
      I will list them as follows:
1st-Freedom of Speech;
2nd-The right of the people to be secure in their persons, and so on;
5th-nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property;
13th-. Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime. Now, I know you think these are rather foolish Ammendments to be bringing up on this particular petition but, I do not think that the children fill this way.

      I'll explain! When a child can't talk and express themselves through mouth, they can only do so by fashion or style. I agree with some of the guidelines of the systems clothing but, hairstyles and color shouldn't be an issue. It's a way of expression(freedom of speech). If these children can't express themselves in anyway this takes us to Ammendment 2.

2nd- How can one be secure in their own body if they don't feel happy inside? The system is stealing it away from them. Just like a slave, Ammendment 13, and I see no child committing a crime by having colored hair or extensions. Which allows me to conclude Ammendment 5. Without expressions, there is no emotion and with no emotion, is no freedom, just slavery, and that's when you take away a life.
      A child's esteem gets so low that you could cause a beautiful little life to die. All that we're wanting is for our children to be able to wear their hair in any fashion or color that they wish. Clothes should be the same. I agree that SOME of the clothing rules are fine but, some aren't. As a parent of an Autistic child with ADHD, you're harming my child more than helping her and I ask that you reconsider the rules that take away the right for the children to have various colors in their hair. It's simple to decide but, it's pure hell walking down the hallways and feeling like you don't belong and for your information, it makes the children not want to go to school.

     Our Dropout rate would decrease if there weren't so many rules pertaining to the students appearances.

      Ammendment 15-The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied. The last time that I checked, any child born in the U.S. was a citizen and even those earned. Which gives them the right to vote, as well as the parents. So, with this petition, these names are considered a VOTE. Vote for every Ammendment mentioned above. The children just want their freedom. Let's atleast let go of the rope a little bit.

                                                                           Thank you for listening,
                                                                                              Mrs. Kirby
