Does the playground size meet Title 5 standards for the California Code of Regulations? (Two kindergarten classes require 0.5 acre of turfed, field area, not including hard court). If there are more than 80 pupils, more area is required to be in compliance with California Code of Regulations, Title 5.

This seems like a bad location. Parking issues. Health issues. Dog poop and urine galore next to children playing. Bad idea!

Kids and dogs mix at home, not at school

- Reduces space kids need to exercise and run and learn to avoid obesity. - invites added vehicle traffic - invites added dog traffic to and from park amongst kids and parents > the risks outweigh the benefits...especially with dog beach as a perfectly sufficient alternative.

Poor decision. I have 2 kids and a golden retriever, our kids need the space more than the dogs.

I strongly urge our City Council to vote NO to putting an off leash dog park area near where young children play.

This is a ridiculous spot for a dog park! I am appalled that the school district would suggest this location!

As a parent I’m concerned about the general public being allowed on pre-school grounds. This is absurd! Taking away green space from children to give to dogs!!! We already have a dog beach!

Young children adjacent to a dog park is not a good combination. Also why is there even a need for another dog park?

Not a child-friendly decision. I thought our school district officials were charged with promoting school safety and providing a healthy learning environment. This proposal does neither!

This is a terrible idea and extremely unsafe. A lot of young children are also noise sensitive and fearful of dogs why would you put them running on the other side of a fence from our babies?! I have a dog and love him as a member of our family and would still NEVER want a dog park taking up half of the small resource our village kids have at ECDC. We have a beach and a large grass field in the Cays that is plenty for our doggies. Children HAVE to come first. Do not do this for 60k a year.

ABSURD proposal! TK/K students use this area EVERY DAY!! Rope off part of Sunset Park, or use Triangle Park or Vernetti Park for the dogs. Don’t take play area away from STUDENTS!! And who will “police” those people who DO NOT pick up after their dogs?? BAD IDEA on SO MANY fronts!!!!!!!!

This is so wrong! You are putting our children's safety and well being at risk! This will be open to the public for any stranger to visit. Why would you put our kids at risk. People will search and find the dog parks, so saying it will be only residents is a joke. With all the new policy that was started for the safety of the children in school. Why bother when you are trying to do this! Use those small triangle parks that are barely used!
