Children at Selsdon Primary and Heavers Farm should not be forced to wear masks as per government ruling.

It is not fair that children should be forced to wear masks.

Seems to me that whoever made this decision is either ill-informed or they dont actually care for the children.... but it is the parents responsibility to find out.

Absolutely ridiculous! How can children be expected to do this! There is a reason under 11’s don’t need to wear one! Why would you make them!!

Children under 11 don’t need masks. This is stupidity. Hearing impaired children rely on lip syncing to understand what others are trying to say. With a mask in the way, how will they learn? Kids prone to asthma attacks and mental health issues that cause panic attacks will find it difficult to breathe in these masks if they’re wearing them 24/7. How stupid is this school?

Follow government guidelines . A compromise would be in communal areas Classroom is a bubble therefore no need to wear and would be a distraction for kids

They are ignoring the government guidance

Just because people keep their child in this school doesn’t mean they’re not a decent parent!! A decent parent can disagree with this proposal, challenge it and actually try and do something to make a change for the children, but to say that a decent parent needs remove their child from school is ridiculous and actually offensive to those of us who are fighting for our kids! These children have been through enough this year without being taken out of the school completely and away for their friends and every teacher that has taught my children in this school have been nothing but supportive, kind, encouraging and caring, so it’s not all bad, it’s just a shame that the poor decisions by the people at the top are giving this school such a bad name and causing unnecessary upset/stress!

I think if the children are being tested twice a week then why do they need masks especially in the classroom?

No mask wearing all day it’s not good for the children’s health

I have Asthma and am exempt from wearing a mask. Children should not have to wear one either. Stupid!!!

I don’t agree with children being expected to wear masks. They didn’t wear masks when they returned to school after the first closure and the school had very few confirmed cases in that time, so I don’t feel it’s necessary or fair to expect the children to wear masks all day in school. Perhaps a better approach could be to make mask wearing optional as there may be some parents/children who would be happier to wear them, but to try and enforce this is not acceptable.

Disgusting. What child can wear a mask for six hours and not get I’ll. what r you trying to prove makes me feel I’ll just thinking about it. They are meant to be changed every 20 mins how many masks do you want them to carry. Half of these pupils can’t even afford lunch let alone 5 clean sterile masks a day.

They are children, already frightened by what is going on. They need one other place than home where they can be normal
