In BC 1 in 5 children are at risk of going to school on an empty stomach.
We need the government to create a goal in achieving no child poverty because we have rights to our basic needs such as food and clothing, sign this petition to get the government to make a change and get more funding for children!
UN Convention on the rights of the child state children have the right to our basic needs, read below:
Article 24
You have the right to the best healthcare possible, safe water to drink, nutritious food, a clean and safe environment, and information to help you stay well.
Article 27
You have the right to food, clothing, a safe place to live and to have your basic needs met. You should not be disadvantaged so that you can't do many of the things other kids can do.Updates

Seeing 250 people back this cause reminds me that no child should ever have to sit in a classroom worried about when they will eat next. My stomach turns thinking about the kids I know who face this reality every day but your support gives me real hope for a change.

Millions of people in Canada starve every year... while so much food is also thrown away instead of given... we need a change!
its honestly heartbreaking that kids go to school hungry in a place like bc. nobody should have to worry about where their next meal is coming from.
WAY TOO MANY KIDS ARE STRUGGLING. fix this RIGHT NOW.
how is this still a thing in 2017?? kids need to eat to learn. do better.
I really feel sad that some kids don't get food while other kids stuff themselves. By signing this petition I want to end this hunger problem
