I think no more than 6 chickens would be appropriate for smaller areas such as those in a town or city. This will allow plenty of room but not over crowd them (which will lead to disease). If in a fenced in area, I would recommend it be a tall fence (6 feet) or in an area with a roof as they can jump short distances. This will decrease the likelihood that one will find its way to the street and be injured, killed or cause sn accident.

As long as the privilege is respected , it should be aloud !

I had a few chickens & , rabbit growing up in the city of Fairfield.. I’m sure that was against the law 60 years ago. But it was a memory I cherished.

Chickens are an essential animal in my humble opinion.
