Stop the cycle of Domestic Violence. Stop enabling abusers to beat again by enforcing stiffer consequences, beginning with the first offense. Generation after generation, society has turned a blind eye to domestic violence. Reserarch has proven that children who grow up in abusive homes either become abusers or become involved with an abuser. They grow up, have children and the cycle begins again - violence begets violence. Presently our laws are not stopping the abusers. They pay a fine, spend a few days in jail then go home and beat again. Women and children are dying. A stranger would be charged with a felony for the same injuries caused by an abusive partner who either gets probation or charged with a misdemeanor. The victims should not lose their homes. The abuser should suffer the consequences of his OWN actions, starting from the first offense. MEN - stop enabling men to beat women. We must put an end to domestic violence.
