The streets are unsafe & a breeding ground for illness. People are afraid for the safety of themselves & their family. Please do something about this problem before we return to the 1970's.

At 26th street in front of the 8th ave mcdonalds a homeless thug kicked an elderly lady's tiny dog. The police came and told her they knew the guy and can't arrest him because he is mentally ill. This past summer I called 911 when a homeless man pulled down his pants and started masterbating when a family with small children were walking in front of him. I was told the same thing by the police. He deliberately stood up to make sure they all saw his business. But the police did not do a damn thing. THIS SUCKS

Chelsea along 8th Ave bt 14th and 23rd Sts has turned into a meth den. Cracked out addicts and drunk homeless people riddle the streets. I feel unsafe walking to work at 8:30am. There are stabbings, people getting robbed and beat up. It’s ridiculous. Where are the police?? I pay too much money in rent to live with this.

Sadly this is an issue all over Manhattan. Even midtown east by grand central you can barely cross the street without someone blocking you in need of help. There needs to be more shelters and rehab facilities.

The city is a joke/ what are we paying for? De Blasio is a loser - get some real leadership in office before someone gets killed.

Please keep our city clean. This is an epidemic and our elected officials are horrible.

Corner of 28th and 7th (NE side) is constantly covered in urine and garbage, especially in the mornings. A group of people typically camp out there. Not the best thing to walk my son past on the way to school.

I agree we all need to be involved to address this problem before it becomes out of control !!! Remember a collective voice is always stronger !

most need medical attention or drug rehabilitation. Not an inexpensive apartment. That's an excuse to avoid the real problem.

I’m not surprised there are not more signatures; it was VERY difficult to find this petition!!

I have lived in the Chelsea neighborhood for 2 years now. Going to work EVERY morning I am being screamed at and called a b**** because I won’t give money at 8:15am. This happens every day. I even called the 311 number about a guy shooting up on the corner of 22nd and 7th while walking my dog and they said they couldn’t do anything about it. I used to feel so safe in this neighborhood, but the homeless population has gotten so out of hand I feel like I’m in danger after dark.

I live in the west village and the homeless issue is out of control. I am scared to leave my apt and my dogs have been threatened and physically assaulted. I’ve called 311 and 911 many times regarding this issue and nothing has been done. This needs to be addressed!

Then are everywhere in NYC. Must elect a non-Liberal as the next mayor, or it will only get worse.

I have been living in this neighborhood for 29 years and the problem has never been nearly this awful and it worsens daily. I don't feel safe walking here in the daytime, I can't imagine what it is like here at night.

The homeless have been very aggressive this summer. I was yelled at and approached several times in Sheridan Square where they wanted to fight me. This has become a big problem and I worry about the children in the area.

There are Male prostitutes working in front of the rainbow sex shop on 8th Avenue between 20th and 21st 24 hours a day 7 days a week . It has greatly decreased the quality of life in our neighborhood.
