This is truly an embarrassing situation that has grown worse over the years instead of better.

We should be able to compassionately and intelligently address this problem. Let's show other problematic cities how it's done!!!!

Too many homeless. Many on drugs and living on the streets especially at the LinkNYC stations. They camp out with furniture and sleeping bags. It's unbelievable that DeBlasio does nothing. New York City is turning into San Francisco. It my understanding that there are hard working New Yorkers who have to rely on the shelter systems for a home. This is unacceptable for such a rich city in the United States. Working New Yorkers need housing and not shelters. I have ideas around the working homeless but am waiting for an administration that actually cares enough to make radical changes for the general public as well as the needy.

sometimes I can't walk down the 23rd subway entrance because there are too many passed out drug addicts

The city claims that it conducts "daily outreach" but that basically amounts to asking the homeless nicely if they would like to go to a shelter. The only way to get a grip on this problem is for the cops to aggressively force these people off the streets. The cops must aggressively enforce laws against camping on the streets and other anti-social behavior. I feel bad for these people but we must protect our public spaces.

The increase in homelessness and drug addiction in the neighborhood is alarming. What can we do to assist these New Yorkers in need? Please, let's work toward finding real solutions to help those less fortunate while making sure our neighborhoods stay safe and clean.

I getthis is a difficult issue however when they camp out with food and pee in the doorways it’s time for our officials to work on a resolution. There must be places to provide safe space for them. How about washable container rooms on the piers? Navy Yards, etc

This has gotten so bad! I moved to Chelsea with my fiancé thinking we would stay here long term and even potentially buy at one point. We are now set on moving out when our lease is up. I feel unsafe walking home especially in the early mornings on the way to the gym and late at night. Please make this area safe again!
