Past and present Governments rezoned agricultural land in east meat, where families could afford to buy homes, they promised extensive roads and transport to extend the commuter belt for jobs and work in Dublin. Communities never envisaged that the cost of short hop transport to and from local schools, jobs and social infrastructure would be so expensive. That getting to Dublin from laytown alone would cost €60 a wk by private bus, as there is no direct bus service from laytown other than private. Rail fairs are even more expensive. Something drastic needs to be done to link all the villages to the main bus Éireann corridor to Dublin and reduce the commuter belt fair structure for Rail and Bus. As the Dublin and Drogheda City boundaries grow and widen.

It's a disgrace that our fares are so much more expensive than those travelling from kilcoole to dublin and Naas to Dublin. Both of those two towns are the same distance and both outside of County Dublin also

These areas need to be included in the short hop zone along the commuter belt. People are forced this far north for cheaper housing but this is offset by very expensive commuting costs.
