We, the law abiding citizens of Crossmoor, Moorton and Shallcross and the surrounding areas of greater Chatsworth in Durban, unanimously and strongly object, to the unauthorised invasion and possible occupation of open spaces and land in Chatsworth.

Illegal land invasion brings in its wake, tampering with water and electricity connections and disruption of these services, to the authorised and legal home owners.

It will impact negatively on sanitation and hygiene, affecting surrounding properties, which in turn, may contribute to illnesses, diseases and the possible pollution of the ground water of the area.

The property owners of surrounding areas will run the risk of having their hard earned properties, facing the bleak prospect of devaluation.

It has been commonly observed, that along with illegal occupation, comes a rise in crime, lawlessness, service delivery protests and general disruption of peaceful existence which we already experiencing now.

We as a united community, stand together and raise our objections to this reprehensible invasion and we humbly ask the necessary authorities to step in and help protect our constitutional rights.
