This Petition is to show that there is Community Support for a Charter School in Hudson County with a location in Union City, NJ and open to ALL Students in Union City, West New York, North Bergen, Jersey City, Weehawken.

A group of educators and parents plan to open a public-free charter school for the residents of Union City, West New York, North Bergen, Weehawken, and Jersey City. The school will be located in Union City, but it will be open to students who attend school districts in Union City, West New York, North Bergen and Jersey City since they share a common border.

The mission of the charter school is:

• To be a professional learning community of students, teachers, parents, and families embracing collective responsibility for students to learn.
• To prepare students for outstanding academic achievement, interpersonal skills, elevated ethical character, and a firm command of foreign languages through a developmentally rigorous, innovative, challenging, college preparatory curriculum in a warm, nurturing environment.
• To encourage lifelong learning, with a focus on strong leadership skills. Students will gain knowledge of meaningful careers flourishing in our community, such as medicine, technology and teaching, and acquire hands-on experience from experts in the field, as well as have a sincere responsibility to give back to the community.
