Please be humanistic in your business operations. The model should always be people first, and your decision to terminate this man is morally wrong and illegal. Please reverse your decision and hire this man back and honor his years of friendly service!

What Charlottesville Natural Gas has done to Bob is awful and should not be tolerated.

The city of Charlottesville has a very strong activist community and a history of standing up for justice. This is indeed a wrong move by the city government, one that should be corrected before the people take action. This is the social media age. This is the viral age. The Department of Public Works is making their own bad press here, the people will be the ones to spread it. Listen to our prayers, listen to our pleas, we only want what's right for this hard working citizen.

Bob is one of the most honest and hard-working men I've had the pleasure to know. My love and respect for him was not implicitly formed when I married his beautiful daughter, but has been forged through the experiential; laboring through difficult times and celebrating happy occasions, with keen observation of the condition of his heart in all circumstances. Bob was – and is – ALWAYS loving people. Bob's passion for his work, his expertise in the natural gas field, and nearly 20 years of corporate knowledge are absolutely irreplaceable. The actions of the City of Charlottesville were not only criminal and amoral – they’re also indicative of an acute managerial incompetence, and are an unfortunate microcosmic view of the broad and systemic human relations failure.

Prayers that the people that can make this right do just that. This is wrong on so many levels.

Bob deserves much better than this from the city he so faithfully and capably served. Mr. Jones, please make this situation right!

This is our opportunity to make a change, instead of grumbling and saying "that's not right"- we can DO something.

The City of Charlottesville, like many government organizations, is comprised of people who care, but managed by a system that does not. I'm signing this petition in hopes that the mayor will recognize the City has broken the law and that to fight this in court will cost the taxpayers and citizens more money than simply doing the right thing and giving Bob Pippin the money, hours, rights and back pay he worked for.

Loyalty to an employer should be honored in a better manner than it has been in this case

It's time for Charlottesville admit they were wrong! Reenstate Bob's benefits, his retirement and his back pay! Discrimination is illegal! This is discrimination!
