Last night I was woke up by the loud plane going over head at 2.00 AM and it seemed to go on for hours. There was a lull around 5.00 AM and then it started back up at 6:00 AM and is still going on. I am directly in the path of the runway. I has become unbearable. It used to be, they stopped air traffic at 11.00 PM and it was quiet all night long and you heard an occasional small plane, but since they implemented this Nextgen it is just horrible during the night hours. It seems to start around 11:00 PM and multiple planes come in all at once, maybe 5 to 6 in a row. If it is cloudy or raining the sound is much louder and reverberates toward the ground. I cannot sleep with my windows open at all. I am having ear aches all the time and of course problems sleeping through the entire night. It is time to make the Airport and FAA sound proof our homes and pay for health damages. I am tired of getting woke up by planes every night!!!!

The implementation of NextGen in CLT is destroying the quality of life in south Charlotte as well

I have filed 100's of complaints only to receive a "Dear John" letter from CLT acknowledged my complaints. Worthless. CLT blames FAA...FAA blames CLT. When is enough. .enough

We know your community is suffering such as ours. NextGen is fully implemented in Northern California and your community is not far behind. Please join a protest on NoFlyDay, October 24th and sign our national pledge not to fly on that day. www.noflyday.org

What we need is a game changer, something that will shift the conversation from lots of local stories about NextGen noise to a unified national conversation about the practices of the FAA. Join in on NoFlyDay, October 24th. Sign the pledge to not fly on that day and participate in a local peaceful protest. Go to www.noflyday.org to sign the pledge and to find a protest in your community.

I have complained numerous times to CLT only to receiver letters saying that its the FAA's fault regarding flights in and out of Charlotte. I'm in SW CLT where low flying planes are constantly coming and going until 12midnight most nights. They start up at about 6:30am and fly through all day.

I live on the county ourskirts near Wilkinson and Sam Wilson. The recent change in flight patterns has brought a tremendous amount of noise and stress. It's downright scary to be in your yard and a large shadow moves over you along with the noise loud enough you can't hold a conversation. You look up and there is the underbelly of plane way too close for comfort. I was accustomed to them being further out but not right over me. That is just during the day. Then they start each night at 10:30 or so as well and go for at least an hour. Great - now no sleep either. The stress levels this has caused is awful.

We built a house at Mountain Island Lake 8 years ago because we loved the quiet area. Now our porch walls vibrate and we don't hear our own words when we are outside. The constant noise is extremely irritating. Wished we had never moved here.

Why do the planes fly SO low? Why don't they fly so noise is minimized?
