Several people have wondered why the Charles E. Belknap statue isn't more prominently displayed in the Belknap neighborhood. This is a petition to relocate the Charles Belknap statue, currently situated near Griff's Icehouse, to a more conspicuous location within the Belknap Neighborhood, (namely, to the Southeast, or Southwest corner of the intersection at Coit Avenue and Hastings Street in Grand Rapids, Michigan). We believe that the relocation will help to reinvigorate historical awareness and community pride, while acting as a welcoming beacon to those that may happen to work or visit the Belknap area.
