There are many more options we have, even if not at the Equestrian Center. The senior dues could go towards having ceremonies at the Blue Crabs Stadium, or Laurel Springs/Gilbert Run park. Personally, I wouldn't mind the football fields of NPHS or SCHS. It'd be a lot easier than in the gymnasiums, would look a lot better, could seat way more people, and would be easier to decorate to fit school colors. We were never asked where we wanted to graduate at. I was never informed about this online poll. In addition, with how tickets are arranged for LPHS, my younger sister wouldn't be able to sit with my parents for the ceremony, unless one parent gave up the opportunity to watch their first child walk. Even if things are too far along to be changed, I would at least like to be acknowledged about the concerns at hand, instead of brushed aside as if we don't matter.

I graduated from La Plata at the equestrian center. I believe every student should get the opportunity to share La Plata pride, which would not be at a rival high school

Though I graduated in 2014 at the equestrian center, I feel as though 2015 and so on should receive the same experience. NPHS gets enough credit and money for other events they hold. Nobody wants to graduate from another HS. #FairGraduation2k15 .. I bet you didn't graduate from another HS. Don't start anything new!

1) I understand this from the board of education point of view once these kinds of decisions are made it can be very difficult/almost impossible to reverse them. 2) that being said an online poll where most of the students/parents did not get a chance to participate in is not means to say they no new about it before hand 3) for some charles county students this may be the only graduation they will ever have/they may be the first person in their family to graduate...to dictate that experience for them and say they can only bring four people in the actual gym is ridiculous.

I don't think that it's right that we should have to graduate at another school and not even be guaranteed that all of our family can be in the room with us during a monumental moment in our life.
