I would get a lot of use out of a park close to home.

I have two young kids that would get a lot of use out of a park close to home.

I would enjoy playing in a park close to home.

This space is merely a recycling box catch basin. Also a habitat for wild rabbits that come and eat all our plants. This park is a great idea and can't wait to take my grandson over to enjoy it! Start construction ASAP, as we in our townhouse survey have it in our property agreement that there is NO playing ball or other activities on our roadway in our survey. Better to have the kids in a safe, supervised area away from vehicles and moving traffic.

This park is dearly needed. Turner Park is close by, but not toddler friendly or visible to parents! Every young child needs to be encouraged to play outside more and more these days! Being in a townhouse survey, I'd rather have all the kids in a safe place, than roller blading and throwing a football or baseball on our street dodging cars. Can't wait to hear the laughter of kids in that area rather than it just being a recycling box catch basin! Hurry up and get started!!

Bill, I'm not sure I understand how you think that three parks could be too many? There are almost 1000 kids between Upper Wellington and Upper Sherman, south of Rymal. Why not let the city do something positive and give them a clean safe place to play? A maintained city park vs. an overgrown lot seems like a no brainer.

The park at Les Chater YMCA was designed for children ages 8-12. While the slide was replaced a couple of years ago to allow younger children to use it, there is still very little a young child can do there. Two swings and a slide is not exactly something to cheer about. This current spot is a teenage smoking/drinking hangout waiting to happen. An absolute waste of space, and from what I hear the drainage has already begun seeping into the townhouses that border the greenspace. Why fight to keep that?
