We, the families of Chapel Hill students, have enjoyed the privilege of periodically eating lunch with our students. While this privilege may have started as an opportunity for us to spend time with our own students, it has evolved into so much more. For our students, it is an opportunity to show us off to their friends. It has become a special treat for our students to have us interact with their friends, and we have enjoyed the opportunity to get to know these friends. Please do not allow the inappropriate behavior of a few visitors to remove this opportunity for our students and their families. Please allow us to do as at least half the elementary schools in our district do, to sit with our student’s class to eat lunch if our student wishes us to do so.
