My name is Chantal Guillon, the entrepreneur that brought to San Francisco and Palo Alto delicious Parisian Macarons and other goodness, which we make daily in San Francisco.
Since March of this year, we have been planning to open a "Patisserie" at Howard & 9th St. Just as our construction is completed, the city has requested we go through a "neighborhood notification" for the change of use from a retail home furnishing store to a 'limited restaurant' that prepares and sells baked goods and Gelato. (no alcoholic beverages)
If somebody is against it and files for a review, we won't be able to open next month, signing this petition will help show the city that the majority are in support of our project!

I am honestly a bit overwhelmed by the outpouring of encouragement because I really just wanted to serve some macarons and now this feels like a genuine movement for our little shop. Seeing all these names attached to our project makes me feel like the city is finally on our side even though the permit process has been such a headache lately.

I work next door to the Howard Street location and I believe that this business will be a beautiful contribution to the neighborhood.
When my coworker brought back macarons from Paris, we put them to the test and we all agreed Chantal's were BETTER. Have been a regular to the Palo Alto location and love the freshness.
Chantal Guillon would be a great addition to the neighborhood, adding products that you cannot find there. Adding this store to SOMA will make this neighborhood more lively with increased foot traffic that would benefit all other stores.
This is just so silly. Now the neighborhood has to be notified every time one retail store closes and another retail store opens in the same location? Puh-leeze. I love Chantal Guillon macarons - I'm jealous that they're not opening in MY neighborhood!
SF Government, stop making it hard for small business to open up. Chantal Guillion is an established company with a great reputation.
I live a block from here and can't wait for this to open. Delicious hand-made baked goods!

I don't live in the neighborhood, but walk thru this intersection twice daily going to & from work. Please let the conversion go thru! (and please, Chantal - open by 8:30am?)
