The district has confirmed the GPA conversion scale will be updated and applied retroactively as requested. This adjustment corrects the grading discrepancies that necessitated this campaign. I am now transitioning to monitor the implementation process to ensure the change is reflected accurately on all student transcripts.

Please make changes to the current standard GPA conversion scale immediately and do not wait for committee findings and reviews. Owen J. Roberts High School is currently not using a conversion scale that accurately represents its current grading scale. Aligning the standard GPA conversion scale with the current grading scale would be the first step toward equity for our students.

This action needs to be taken now and retroactively.

Even though I'm a senior to be graduating in less than 16 days, I will sign the petition for the kids younger than me who deserve to be recognized fairly for the grades they achieve and not be lowballed because the school district can't get their act together.

This only affects unweighted GPA. It does not change any of the weighted scales currently in use.

This is cheating students out of the GPAs they earned and isn't even consistent within OJR's own grading system. Colleges will recognize when some high schools grade more harshly than others, but an A is still a 92 even if it takes a 97 to get the 4.0. Treat the students fairly.

College admission is competitive and ojr students need to be on a level playing field with students from other districts!
