I'm earn more than double my ex but i'm financially worse off than her due to child support. Her combined income bring her after tax after child support income above mine and she can now because of CSA afford a $430k house upgrade and spend money on house and renovations which i could never afford. It would be good if i could spend my money on the children instead of investments for my ex who claims she can't afford music lessons.

actual costs of child/ren should be set and each parent should have to pay 50% each regardless of time spent income etc, furthermore in special circumstances (special needs etc) paying parent should not be refused the right to pay the additional costs direct to provider to ensure appointments are kept etc, the entire system needs a rehaul with neither the payer or payee being favoured !

Totally agree the system is really unfair to the parent pay child support, the payment to pay even before they have earned it is ridiculous so much needs to change!

I am a child effected by divorce. Child support ruined my child experience. It was always about money, i was made to feel like a piece of money being fought for. My dad who ive always wanted to live with was forced to pay my mum child support while my mum had a great paying job. I did not see a cent of this money and i still havent (im now 18) i never got any of the care benefits passed on to me.
Make this fair so other children dont feel this way because it sucks! Why should the child be punished for a separation that was out of their control

Very happy that CSA may finally be reviewed if this gets looked at.
